    Not sure I'd call $500-$700 for a standard 1940s Lithgowicon "on the cheap side", personally. Looks like you picked up a lovely rifle though!

    Every gun shop I have ever been to has SMLEs for sale and there's always tables full of them at the gun shows. Plenty of people are selling, they just want unreasonable prices for them IMHO.
