    Is there a meaning to the "T" stamped on the rear sight block?Both my factory H barrels have this mark.

    Tapered cross pin. It's predominantly present on rifles assembled late 1920's to late 1930's, hence if being present on your H models.

    Thanks for the comments but what is "ridgedidge"? And Muffett, when you say it's a Lithgowicon H barrel do you mean the barrel itself is authentic or that the barrel was installed by Lithgow? Given that I payed sporter price for it it's of no great consequence- just curious and too much time on my hands. The picture shows our backyard two days ago and my range is up in the foothills and probably got 2 or 3 feet of snow.
