True... At least they are asking and trying to learn from others who do know, and not just becoming'anti'-gun just because of the opinions and beliefs of others they've been around. We need all the people we can to be on our side, and/or tolerant of us.
Also, I know it gets difficult at times, but please don't let this go too political. I never ends well.
Thanks,
~ Harlan

An interesting and important topic. It seems to me that there was a lot less gun crime and gun ignorance years ago when kids would learn to shoot at scouts, cadets or in school. If they brought in shooting to the sporting curriculum at school; it would take away the mystique and curiosity that creates the accidents and miss use. It would instill a respect of security and handling at an important age. You could use air rifles for training purposes so it wouldn't cost a fortune

See nightly news seven or eight kids killed with a knife downunder very sad evil people will do evil with any avaliable instrament.
I learned firearms saftey from a one armed Sherrifs deputy /rangemaster at what once was the county shooting range (closed long ago) Perhaps if they still taught kids we all would be safer.

Sadly, mental health is believed to be the motivator --- yet again. The children's mother is reportedly a 'person of interest' (police-speak for suspect).

My apologies Mr Laider... I missed your post. We used to have the Corsair here in Dallas for years but more members of the Corsair Sponsor group (the pilots) lived out that way so they moved it's permanent base.
There are some pretty good photos and info here:
