    So...the barrel was made in 10 of 30...and the original stock would have been the straight grip...now, that could have been altered anywhere along it's journey to you by anyone that had it...not necessarily an arsenal.

    But it is also possible that it was an arsenal rebuild. This is what it says in "The Model 1903 Springfield Rifle and its Variations" by Joe Poyer: "The Type 6 C Stock was aproved on March 1928. From 1928 through 1939 most C stocks appear to have been installed only on some service rifles submitted for a complete rebuild."

    So a 1918 receiver with an october 1930 barrel and a C Stock is possibly correct for a rebuild. Post as many as possible detailed pictures of every marking you can find (on all metal parts and the stock) and I'm sure some more knowledgeable member than me will come along and anwser most or even all your questions.
