Well, it's difficult to judge a fuzzy picture while standing on one's head because the photo has been posted upside down (HINT for future postings).

But IMHO the stock as it is now was not original to any kind of Mauser, military or commercial. Not only has it been cut down, but the pistol grip is a graft and the front end of the comb looks sharper than on any of the K98icon family that I could find up to now More like one of the 1891-5 family. So the recess for the turned-down carbine bolt handle may also be an alteration to take the carbine action. If, as Vintage Hunter queried, the barrel has also been chopped, then you can only hope it's a good shooter, because it's not much worth as anything else.

Maybe I'm wrong BUT BETTER PHOTOS ARE ESSENTIAL. Please!

I agree on the quality of the photo's but take a closer look at the one in post 2, I think it's a badly butchered walnut K98kicon stock. Isn't that a waffenampt stamped on the cross bolt? Looks like 214 to me. Not that it makes any difference though, it's still the wrong stock for a Standard Modell and wood butchers have had hold of it.
