Bolt and bolt sleeve are not correct. I think I have the correct parts.

The bayonet is a PAL tool product. It's an M1
bayonet which would be issue. The scabbard is offshore production, I think Greek by that marking on the scabbard its self and the "M7" also...US had an ordnance mark. You need a green (OD7) cartridge belt now...dated late WW2...

The bolt is a Commercial Controls replacement. In some publications, it was reported that CC-marked bolts were original to Smith-Corona rifles, and such was not the case. Possibly the bolt sleeve is a Rock Island, although not certain about that.

Fuatos, Nice photography. In the seventh photo (bolt is rotated upward) there appears to be a crack in the bolt body. It might be some manufacturing defects or lack of finish work by CC. At any rate it diserves some examination. Salt Flat

no idea about the rifles' details, but it presents beautifully and is an awesome gift.

Thank you for the replies! The CC bolt's machining under the bolt handle is rough. I looked it over closely and I don't see any cracks. I'd guess wartime machining/finish work?
Another question: Under the serial number on the receiver, there is a punch mark. I'd assume it was a hardness test? Can anyone confirm this or help me understand it?
Thanks again! I really do appreciate it.

It's a proof mark.

Rick has it right. Try Springfield Sporters for a S-C bolt, new and cheap. Nice find, I hope all enjoy it.
