    Something I purchased

Couple of books I brought the other day that should yield a tad of info to supplement the other resource books I have on the Mk III's and SLRs and other relevant info.

I reckon any info you can get in relation to the Lithgowicon factory is well worth the pennies spent goes well into the machine issue of the day and how they set up the plant, held floats for parades, demonstrations of the wares they make a dam good read just skimmed them and there is plenty in there I reckon a 4.5/5.o one of the best sets to own I would say.

Going to take one up to Broome soon and kick back with a JD/Cola and get through Vol 1

What a pity no one did the same for RSAF Enfield - or any number of others!

I wonder if the author (or his heirs) could be persuaded to offer those as e-books for a paid download?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

I've only read volume one. Very interesting and a good read. Need to read it again probably.

You will also find "The Enfield Inch" by the same author, well worth the money.

    Australian small arms factory history

As a first time poster I would also recommend that the following 300 page history be read as a companion volume to the history of SAF Lithgow:

    Australian Military Small Arms Ammunition Production 1888 - 2003 - Australia - 2004

It is only available as an electronic book, however, it is a free download
