    Why are straight-pulls so expensive in the UKicon? Semiautos (not legal in UK) are not nearly as expensive here in mainland Europe as the straight-pulls in the UK. The conversion is not that expensive...who are scoring the premium??

    You have hit the nail on the head with the word "conversion" - conversions are not allowed. The rule is: "Once a Section 5 (Prohibited Weapon), always a Section 5." So they have to be bulit from the ground up with a mixture of second hand and new parts, the latter mainly being a non-ported barrel.
