1903\1917 Ammo

Many would make an exception for "low number" '03s with the single heat treated actions. Many of these are brittle and it is often recommended that they not be shot with full power loads if at all. Others say it's ok. I'm in the middle and am using mine with cast bullet low pressure loads only. No problem with the double heat treated or nickel steel actions.

What would a low number be considered? My gun is in the shootable range, so low numbered int hat range?

Presuming the '03 and '17 are in good mechanical condition, they will be fine with any properly manufactured commercial 30-06 ammunition.

Thanks Allen. I have used M1 ammo and they both shoot great! Just was wondering about maybe a little cheaper stuff. So steal case if fine?
