Hey guys just got my first enfield paod $350 from an old farmer our my way but have no idea what I have..
it says lsa c.l. 1916 shtle || gr above chamber it had d d 101887 and same carved into the stock but has .... HV also on stock... I know its not much to go by but I cant post pics atm
Any help would be most welcome

Not much info to go on regarding the rifle's current condition. If you look closely at the markings I think you'll find it's LSA CoLd. which is London Small Arms Company Limited. That's who made it in 1916. GR = George Rex = King George who was on the British
throne at the time. The "II" is actually a worn "III", so you've got a Short Lee-Enfield (SHTLE) Mark 3 (III).

'HV'AND the number on the stock sounds like an LSA that may have ended up in Australia

'HV' is 'High Velocity'.

"high velocity" means the sights have been reworked to suit mk7 ammunition.
