    Question from sydney

    Hey guys just got my first enfield paod $350 from an old farmer our my way but have no idea what I have..

    it says lsa c.l. 1916 shtle || gr above chamber it had d d 101887 and same carved into the stock but has .... HV also on stock... I know its not much to go by but I cant post pics atm

    Any help would be most welcome

    Not much info to go on regarding the rifle's current condition. If you look closely at the markings I think you'll find it's LSA CoLd. which is London Small Arms Company Limited. That's who made it in 1916. GR = George Rex = King George who was on the Britishicon throne at the time. The "II" is actually a worn "III", so you've got a Short Lee-Enfield (SHTLE) Mark 3 (III).

    'HV'AND the number on the stock sounds like an LSA that may have ended up in Australiaicon.

    "high velocity" means the sights have been reworked to suit mk7 ammunition.
