Not surprising Frank. We got tons of surplus carbines here in Canada during the early '70s and there was everything. I cut, two rivet handguard, flat bolt, flip sight, type one front bands, laminated trigger mech...every manufacturer... I know because I had about all of them except IP. Didn't see one of those. There were of course the very odd M2 and many converted to the late features. But the point is, there were thousands untouched by the major mods. Even after 30 years of various wars.
