In my area, a nice 1911 goes for around $400. I don't know what affect the crack may have on that value.

Having seen some of the training films of Swissicon troops, the crack probably came from that, not shooting. They used the rifles as "lifts" over obstacles. One guy on each end the third stepping on the rifle and being lifted/thrown up and over.
