I shot my M1A
for years, then succumbed to the Dark Side. First time I ever fired my new Bushmaster DCM rifle, right out of the box, was at a Highpower match. I shot my best rapid fire scores ever. I shot well over 2000 rounds through that Bushmaster with the stock 2 stage trigger and never had a problem. Having read all the reports of failure (I've never heard a first-hand report....) I always wondered when it was going to crater, so I sold it on ARFCOM for 50 bucks and put in the RRA.
These days, seems that DCM rifles aren't popular, though ANYTHING AR related is at a premium. There's great advice above my post, but if you're just starting out, don't be afraid of scoring a good used DCM upper to mate to anybody's lower with a RRA 2 stage trigger in it. It'll shoot (damned near) as good as anything out there for a whole lot less $$. Point is: Get out there and shoot! H.

A guy down in Mass has a used (300 rds) Compass Lake/Bushmaster upper for sale for $800, shipped. Sounds a tad high.

All the comments you have received are dead on. The RRA does have a "tighter fit" to the upper than most so a "little" less wobble.

I have a RRA NM2 and the upper/lower fit isn't that great. It has slop. I'm new to the high power game and I've only shot about 6 matches with the RRA. Here's a pic of my rapid sitting target from my last match.

THAT'S damned good shootin'. Man, I HATE 99's!! On the other hand..... 99 is a killer score. Way to go. My RRA shoots like that too if I'll let it

I like my Bushy DCM a whole lot
I bought mine a long time ago (not from CMP
) and have been very happy with it. The trigger quite excellent on mine and I have the so-called "National Match" Rock RIver trigger on my 3-gun M4 Rock RIver gun.
While the Rock RIver National Match trigger is MUCH better than what came stock on the gun (which was bad), and was EASY to install, it is definitely not any better than the trigger that came stock on my Bushy match gun.
