Captain O, Welcome to the forum. After reading your post, I found a discussion on the CMP
website that mentions these mags. From what I read, they will function but are not of the highest quality.

I notice that the CDNN mags have gone up $4 each since January. Take a look at the "walnut finish - US wood" carbine stocks they are offering. Makes me wonder if they are "take offs" from some of the New Inland Carbines?

I will not be purchasing my Carbine in either January or later. (Depending upon the quality of product I can find for the money). I had a Universal that shot fairly well about 20 years ago. I had to sell it when my wife, Mary, succumbed to diabetic complications. (End Stage Renal Disease, and ultimately, calcification of her coronary arteries).
It has been a while since I have possessed an M1
, but will enjoy owning another when the time is right. No, I have not used these magazines. M1 Carbine Forum Members have advised me to purchase 30 round M2 Type magazines of Korean manufacture.
I'm not waiting until the last minute to perform my research and due diligence.

I recently purchased several 30 round M1
Carbine magazines. I received the ones with UU on the lower part of the back from Sarco, and they feed perfectly. I ordered another batch from Sportsmans Guide, and they work just fine also. All of these seem to be of a thinner gauge metal from the ones I used in Nam, but they feed just fine.

Same here...There's something about those UU Mags that I like. They feed and Shoot Nice without having NO feed Problems.

I also enjoy the 30 round mags I bought from Sarco. They feed fine and are easy enough to load, and I'll take not quite matching the feel of my authentic USGI 30 round magazine since they work properly. The Keepshooting.com 15 round mags however are not great, I think the feed lips are off on them or something.

I got a Pair of these Taiwan Military 30 Round Magazines through a Trade and To me there just like those UU Marked ones that I really like. They have deep grooves for strong shell support and there definitely not flimsy. The way the Roll crimped is on the Taiwan are the same size as the GI surplus Mag are. I have some USGI Surplus Mags that needs some new springs. I think I can use a few from these mags I'm getting. I did find 4 Hardbacks that will be extra nice for my New M1
Carbine 30 Round Mag Collection. The only thing had to do was when I was pushing down the follower if felt and I heard grinding. The problem was the Follower. I took one out of the others that felt nice and took out one of the Taiwan Mags Followers an it was bent outwards from the back and the sides and it was catching the shell. I took my small pair of channel locks and bent everything back the way they should be and put it all back now it works Real Nice. It has a very Nice Spring with Nice Tension and loaded and cycled every Round with no problems. If you want buy 1 or 2 of these Taiwan Military Mags look around first I found 2 places that sell them for 12 .00. The guy I traded with gave me the website and they were 12.00 each instead of 18.50 from CDNN. I haven't fired a whole mag but I will when they finish all the testing and then find out and fix why I lost a lot of feeling in my Right leg. But I would buy a couple just to have a little fun with it. One more thing..I didn't see any rusting under the bluing. Some pictures look like there is, but it's not, there Clean and have that strong Spot welding. I read the oil wrap ones are Taiwan Military not Korean and I also read they're good ones to get.

Those magazines that are marked with a U or with UU are made in South Korea. The same company that made them for the South Korean army. The 30 carbines were reserve weapons in South Korea till recently. Those are the ones that our Pres will not let into the country and the South Korean army has many thousands of them.
