Absolutely fascinating! I have seen pictures of No 1 Mk III's purposed for line throwing but this is the first I have even seen pictures of a No 4 purposed as such. Excellent job putting the kit together!

Naval Service this model I'm led to believe. Here in Australiaicon i have seen CSR made long barrelled versions of the Very Pistol specially made for line throwing. Never seen a No1 MkIII line thrower.

I think so, i used to have one that was in a wooden chest, the handle was on the underside of the barrel. Had a piece of paper and a picture with it saying it came from HMAS Australiaicon, bit hard to believe as the ship was scuttled 20 odd years before the gun was made!

Maybe from the second HMAS AUSTRALIA? 8 inch cruiser in service from about 1927 to late 1940's.
