You could contact zib and ask if he would make one the correct length.
If you use K-baffles, or sixty degree stepped cones, you will not miss those three inches. It would still have much more volume than modern 9mm suppressors. It will be quieter, lighter and more maneuverable. You could even use a mono-core and it would still be quieter, lighter, and very easy to clean. Best of all, they will be fine with full-auto fire.

Vincent, he's a UK
member, I think this may be intended for a dewat, making it already the quietest gun there is.

Yes, I've owned a copy for 15 years or so - very much the Sten bible. I also had the SAIS for the MkII and MkIII Sten, but not the one for the MII(s), MkV and MkVI. I'm planning to strip my MkV shortly, for which the SAIS will be invaluable.

The Zib Militaria 'silencers' are just empty tubes for decorating deacts and I assume they're made in India or suchlike. I suppose in theory the end pieces could be recycled onto a correct length of 1.5" tube - depends how they're attached.

1.5" diameter tube is readily available and cheap from any of the tyre and exhaust centres around the UK

Thanks. I need to pay more attention to that.

It looks like it’s an empty tube. If the endcaps are not threaded you could always cut or grind the tube away from them.
This type of barrel nut is makes it very easy. You don’t have to thread the inside of the tube. You could braze or epoxy the tube on. Sten MK II barrel nut | StenParts.com
Empty tubes that attach to the barrel and are open are considered to be suppressors by the BATFE here. To legally own one requires a $200 tax stamp. Since “Dummy” or “Display” suppressors can’t be hollow most are made from solid aluminum round bar here.

No problem, it looked like very complex advice for a simple display model, until it clicked you were giving advice for a good functioning example.
At this time silencers and cans are limited to military and law enforcement. I have used them a very little bit in the military, mostly on familiarization ranges and they work very well.
Civilian side, lots of guys run dummy ones for various aesthetic reasons, usually to shroud a "Pinocchio" length (18.5") Non-restricted barrel attached to an otherwise handy (Semi-auto) subgun.
BRS-99's, Suomi's, and Kriss Vectors were somewhat common around here for a time.

If the hearing protection act passes the $200 tax stamp for suppressors will go away here. It would be nice, but I am not holding my breath.
H.R.3799 - Hearing Protection Act of 2015
Hearing Protection Act of 2015
This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to: (1) eliminate the $200 transfer tax on firearm silencers, and (2) treat any person who acquires or possesses a firearm silencer as meeting any registration or licensing requirements of the National Firearms Act with respect to such silencer. Any person who pays a tax on a silencer after October 22, 2015 may receive a refund of such tax.
The bill amends the federal criminal code to preempt state or local laws that tax or regulate firearm silencers.
