It looks like it’s an empty tube. If the endcaps are not threaded you could always cut or grind the tube away from them.
This type of barrel nut is makes it very easy. You don’t have to thread the inside of the tube. You could braze or epoxy the tube on. Sten MK II barrel nut | StenParts.com
Empty tubes that attach to the barrel and are open are considered to be suppressors by the BATFE here. To legally own one requires a $200 tax stamp. Since “Dummy” or “Display” suppressors can’t be hollow most are made from solid aluminum round bar here.
