Where do these blond stocks come from? All the ones I see (including mine and a spare stock) are very dark. Is it years of oil and cosmolineicon from storage? I have a birch stock for a M1icon Carbine and even it is darker than this one. What am I missing?

Dave the Eddystone I already have has a very dark stock. The one in the pics here I haven't received yet but it was made in December 1918 so I'm thinking it didn't go to Europe.
