Good news! M1 Carbines dodged the bullet.
Information only for M1
Carbine owners in California. I don't want this to turn into a political firestorm so Mods plese lock thread, but leave up for information.
Gov Brown sign a bill making almost all centerfire semi-autos as registerable Assault Weapons effective 1-1-2017. The M1 Carbine (and Mini-14) ARE NOT included because they have no "evil" features.
All magazine of any type greater than 10 rounds, however, have to be turned in, except for active and retired LEOs. If you have a carbine in California, pick up some 10 rounders.

Where they'll likely be destroyed, right? Dumb question probably but will you be compensated for them in any way when you turn them in? I'd rather sell mine to someone in a friendly state or is this not an option? If not I'd put the hammer to them myself before I turned them in, at least this route would deny the anti-gun bunch the pleasure of doing it themselves.

Do you really think the Dems are going to stop on just that law?

Good news for the time being for California's.
But lets keep the politics out of the discussion.
