Just a short note on the front sight , obviously missing a hood cover . But looking at the front sight recently with a magnifying lense , there is a small block you can pick out , and the front sight can flip down and up pops a shorter version of the front sight pictured , putting the little block back in locks the choice of sight in place . Different .

Is the hole in the left side of the socket threaded? Would be around the right place for mounting plates for range sights on No1 Mk3 actions

The serial number of 71L0611 Falls within the range of a batch of Sniper rifle conversions. So either a very expensive rifle has been attacked by Bubba, or somehow it was part of a project by LongBranch. Perhaps a rejected rifle from that serial block?
