    T thought the 1918 trench knife saw more service during WW11 the 1918 has brass knuckles and a knife blade the 1917 had a long triangular blade and a hand guard

    Both the M1917 and the M1918 did.

    I have two unissued M1917s that came out of a Virginia National Guard Armory in the late 1950s or early 1960s along with some other bits.
