Look at that, a Short butt, I have one ever seen two of those fitted during my time, rather uncommon pieces.

In the same photo of the close up of the butt marking, I notice there is a raised ridge that runs from the rear takedown pin to the stock trunnion, that must be a new lower receiver group update by Diemaco. I don't recall that ridge, on my issued rifles, but will have to go back and check some photos I have. An interesting little design evolution.

Yes, it's later.

I wonder when that came in? I know my early (19)86AA prefixed rifles didn't have it, but I think the newest I had was a (19)90AA serial range and I cannot recall it.
I seen a couple of (19)93 rifles but I never examined them that closely, the whole a rifle is a rifle, is a rifle thing...

Also, Michael, do you need a cleaning kit oil bottle? I have a bunch kicking around I think, some are shipped unfilled too if I remember right.

I'm too out of date. I didn't even use a C7A2. Saw them at distance.

A nice clean antique bayonet...I remember when they came out and were available as new...at about $175 CDN. That was before they became common.

The quality of build and finish on that lower looks superb, I only ever heard good things about Colt Canada
and I can see why, thanks for sharing the pictures.

If you want a new issue Bayonet 2000 the store "Supply Sergeant" in Edmonton had a couple for sale when I was last in. They wanted around $225 if memory serves and looked genuine from my look through the display case. I can't fathom where they might have got them from though, they are awfully new to be hitting surplus stores already.
The do sell online and ship.

I'll bet the new ones can be had from the original suppliers. Mine came from a vet returning('08 I think)...he'd been issued a second one by some fluke and brought it unused directly to me...nice...
Here ya go! Bayonets - Eickhorn Solingen Limited
