I know the Bisley Vice had the option of being able to fit to a tent pole but it had the advantage of being able to be rotated. This vice doesn't so if fitted to a tent pole it would hold the rifle in a vertical position!

Right, At the end of day and shooting is done, the rifle stands in the center of the bell tent out of the way. This ensures it doesn't get stepped on or fall down. Not for cleaning or servicing.

And of course it would only fit a square tent pole, unlike the Bisley Vise.

If the round pole fit inside that clamp, it would hold. I don't believe that's what it's for though.
