Would you be able to tell me how long the L42 fore stock is? What makes them better then the No 4Ts or the average service rifle that has been upgraded to 7.62?

made whereas I study all of them including the L42A1 conversions. I have over 1,000 No. 4 (T) in my database, though not all survive. Sometimes just one (or more) serial numbered component(s) is (are) known (rifle, scope, bracket, scope case, chest). Feel free to contact me as I look forward to adding more as every bit of info adds to the knowledge base and one never knows what piece of the puzzle will fall into place. Using the database I have found mates to four of my scopes or rifles. :-) I enjoy helping others to find matches too as so many rifles were mismatched when sold surplus in North America. My web site has some info on No. 4 (T) equipment with more to be added. contact info.

Hi
Im new hear, so appologies if I'm breaking any Forum Etiquette
,
I would just like to say, Great work Simon! Thank you.
Its good to see a few like minded individuals are actively helping to further peoples understanding of this complex subject.
Out of curiosity, I'm lead to believe approx 1250 L39's where manufactured, have you got any idea of the kind of numbers that remain ?

Thanks Simon,
Now to see if Glasgow Police answer my request for any info regarding the rifle and scope.
It would be pretty cool if I could get a copy of armourers records, and maybe a photo of it on a range!
Probably wishful thinking - but worth a try.
