Rifle V38870 was part of batch number 47 which consisted of 43 rifles. Records show a conversion date of 22nd December 1971, on completion the rifle was despatched to store at Donnington.

Rifle N33996 was part of batch number 51 which consisted of 20 rifles. Records show a conversion date of 8th February 1972, on completion the rifle was despatched to store at Donnington.

Rifle L32563, Can you double check the serial number please? I can find rifle L32565 converted in 1971 and L32568 converted in 1972. So I'm wondering if there's a typo in the records?

Of course there is one you won't be able to trace. A L39A1 clone done by Ms. Parker of A.J. Parker. Looks just like the government model except it's not marked as such. (much nicer condition as well) since it's had less than 100 rounds through it.

Bought that years before the Brits released the real ones because I thought they never would.

Rifle L32431 was part of batch number 70 which consisted of 13 rifles. Records show a conversion date of 12th November 1975, upon completion it was shipped to store at Donnington.

Ahh yes Ma Parker's shop. She had an ancient dog with cardboard ears and the place always had a peculiar Ammonia smell if you catch my drift

Rifle 544 was dispatched to Northern Ireland Police on the 24th March 1977.

Rifle A664 is recorded as having been shipped to store at Donington on the 26th February 1971.

Rifle E148 was dispatched to Fulton of Bisley on the 24th March 1971.

Cheers and thanks for the offer. Two L42A1's, purchased in the Navy Arms lot from an Atlanta GA dealer who received 5 of the rifles around 1994 if I remember correctly maybe early '95. No dust cover loop on either, one with a long forward action screw/swivel and one with a short, both swivels are of a different shape on the body.

Rifle one: Serial number X32136 the scope case strap is marked L/Cpl Pxxxxxx 1 Para B Coy marked with a 2 on the stock, on the scope case and on transit chest

Rifle two: Serial number V34685 has a tag in the scope case marked
"36 District Workshop REME"
"Passed Range Test"
"Date 31-01-90"
