Is Orion 7 a reliable source for original parts?

Not an expert, but I believe if the part has the asterisk (*) symbol next to the listing it is a reproduction. The Garand parts list note everything that is reproduction with the asterisk (*).

Trying to determine if the flat edge indicates a reproduction or if any were actually produced like that back in the day. All the originals I have seen have the round edge. Surely someone will know.
