I am not sure what the "correct" stock would currently sell for. I was in the same situation as you. I had received a nice, very close to correct, IHC from DCM in 1984. It too had a replacement stock. About 10 years ago, I finally purchased a 1954 dated stock for about $300.00. They were hard to come by at that time. Even now, while there are many more IHC rifles with correct stocks around I suspect not many loose stocks for sale. I was not very happy with the stock i settled for and have since returned the replacement stock to the rifle. Not only do you need to find a proper stock, you have the added problem of trying to find one that will match the rifles wear. Keep looking but don't settle for anything less than what is totally right for your rifle.
