Shouldn't a '41 have the early cocking piece? This is what's on my '42 LB MK1*.

As far as we know, yes, but such things often got changed in service. Cocking piece gets a little loose on the firing pin and another gets swapped on instead of punching the end of the pin?

I see yours has the early grooved trigger as well. What other early features does it have? A 1L---- or 2L---- rifle?

I assume it got that paint job in U.K. service?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

    None that I'm aware of.
