30-40 Krag ammo
Found some 30-40 for sale for what I though was a good price. $29.99 a box or $28.49 ea. for 10 boxes at Able's. It was HSM ammo, I called HSM and they say they use new brass. It was selling for less than brass on GunBroker. The guy at Able's said I was the second call about 30-40 today and he has never received a call for it before. Has about 25 left I guess.

I could not find any 'reasonably priced' ammo, and NO ammo to duplicate issue load on line. I finally found a note on the Graf's website to put a request for .30-40 Krag
on a 'wish list' when their stock of .30-40 brass was re-stocked.
About a month and I took possession of 100 pieces of brass. I'm waiting for good weather to test it. (Bullets and such are the same as for any other .30 caliber rifle, other than I can't find 220 grain FMJ.)

I can't even find Hornady's old 220 SP to use. We have a man local that swages his own and can do this to order...

I have trouble with the hunting (hydro-shock) or whatever they are called....ole Remington ammo....it is a little picky to feed.
I have not started to reload for this gun yet, but did pick up a set of dies from Cabelas in the bargain cave for $10 a few years ago....you have to grab that odd duck stuff when you can find it.

I've found that the Hornady round nose 180gr perform very nicely. Have loaded it in several Krags. Also, their 150gr. RN. Only tried the 150gr. in one rifle, but was pleasantly surprised. Fed perfectly and shot great at 200 yds.
