I just felt like throwing this in for discussion. I bid on a few items, but did not win any. I prebid on two lots. The first was a Winchester M1Garand for $2200.00 and it went to someone on the floor for $2200.00. The other was for a parts lot that had M1 Garand stocks and other parts. (I wanted the G43 locking lugs among other things) I prebid $1100.00 for that one and it went to someone on the floor for $1100.00. I also bid on another spur of the moment rifle when it looked to be going for a low ball price, but then it was chased up to more than it was worth. I was really upset about loosing to someone bidding after me that didn't bid more than I did. But when I called to ask how that could happen they explained that even though I was an internet prebid someone on the floor actually bids for me and they were slow on the draw. So, to the auctioneer, the person on the floor bid first. Oh well... I also consider the fact the auction house knows my maximum prebid before the auction even starts. It just doesn't sit well with me. I still am simmering over it. My internet connection is so slow and undependable that I doubt I could have increased my bidding before the hammer dropped even though I was watching it live. I was going to bid on a Savage No 4 US Property marked, as that's one I'm missing in my collection, coming up later in the auction but was so disgusted I closed out. It looked like somebody got a good deal on it.
