Not just Lee Enfields were overprice IMO but many other milsurps as well. Pretty rough K31's at $750.00, wood beat to where I wouldn't have bought it at half that price. Even the SKS market is seeing price increases. One vendor was pitching a matched SKS. not sure for how much but then showed the guy a much cheaper "forced match".
I remember buying my first No 5 for $25.00 plus tax at Curly's Antiques on Bernard Ave. in Kelowna in 1961. Sold it years later for $125.00 and thought I did well. Replaced it with two when I started to acquire LE's 7 years ago at $500.00 each. Wish I had foresight like hindsight.
