    Gun show first for me

I have had a dedicated table at our local gun show for years and travel to many of the large shows around the country as a seller and a buyer. At our local show this Saturday we had an opening crowd that was larger than I had seen in years. The isles were jammed up and near impassable. Business was brisk. Among other things on my table, I had a very nice early 1942 Savage No.4 Mk.1 (not Mk.1*) with all correct Savage marked parts. In a busy inattentive moment some low life POS stole the Mag out of the Savage. This is the first time in all these years that I have had anything stolen or even an attempt. So sad. Can't trust anybody an more.

    I know the feeling

I have traded at Bisley for a few years and like you had the shock of the first theft a few years ago. Now there is hardly a show where something isn't nicked. We are now taking mags out or cable tying them to the rifle.

Thieving rats! I was at a gun show 3 years and had great sales on Saturday, so good that I exceeded the travel costs and table rentals....wooohooo. Then on Sunday as I was packing up I noticed 3 empty knife boxes, two folder knives and a nice Germanicon stag hunter were missing. When I got home and packed away the knives I also noticed that I was down one Cowboy Bowie Knife.....not expensive but it was in a very large clam shell package so I never thought anyone would take one. There went the profit and a chunk of trust with it. It has happened several times since including getting bamboozled out of a $50 bill by a pro when I left some cash on the table and turned around to make change for a $100 bill. Magazines I guess are a favorite item for the thief who is too cheap to buy one. Wouldn't it be nice if thieving rats did not attend the shows .

Dissapointing to hear, but the petty theives must have a bit of gumption or no brains.

Whilst I have never been inclined to steal, I cannot imagine someone thinking that it is a good idea to steal from someone with a table full of firearms and knives.

They were probably lucky that they were not caught rehanded.
