When I dropped some rifle etc for the June auction, Mike said the previous one (March) was packed out, no catalogues left and no seats, (there never is a seat when I do wait about) it seemed the "snipers" did attract a lot of attention and the other Military rifles.
For anyone looking for a bargain then they come up on occasion......... some of the best ones are not always in the Military section, some sporterised ones are rare examples (obvious need timber and parts etc ) helps to read and re read the online catalogue. Must say I wouldn't get excited about any German
snipers that go through, all the ones I've seen are about as straight as a corkscrew.

but if you read the fine print - it appears that this listing is for the previous auction as the June 21 listing is not available yet:

Well I appreciate you not spending my money. As a Manitoban, we need that to pay the heat in the winter or we will die. That is why we travel once a year to the Calgary Alberta gun show, so we can bring home some of that abundant Alberta money.
You are right about the "last sale thing". I think I saw a listing of prices realized, and it showed that rifle as having sold for somewhere over the £900 mark, which would indeed be the value of the telescope around here. Add in any buyers fees or sales tax, and, if need be, breaking up the rifle for it's components should cover that and even leave a few bucks for the trouble. I suspect breaking up the rifle would be doing the collector fraternity a service, other than the actual receiver which will forever appear to be a sniper.

Which you do very well as I recall...because you take gun stuff to a gun show...and sell it.

Again, examples of people building bitzer rifles and then later selling them "purporting" to be rare examples of the real deal sniper rifles, whether, Brit ones or German
owned by Hitler himself with SS stamped all over it and straight, one off sales never to be repeated.
The thing they forget EVERYTIME is, the knowledge base that surrounds this Milsurps area of expertise these days!!
