    You have a typical post war rebuilt Winchester. As the guys said it's not unusual for these carbines when updated to the last version to have had parts mixed. The barrel is a replacement as both Underwood and Winchester both made all their own barrels. Your serial number dates to about September 1944. Having a carbine is a great rifle to shoot and enjoy.
