Looks genuine, the threads look bad which is why it isn't on some carbine. They are definitely not common since they were only used a year before the type three came out. I'd naval jelly that unit. They are worth more than the other two when in decent shape.

Threads aren't buggered at all, maybe just appeared that way in the picture. I slid this on the end of my M2 and used the screw from that and it tightened down fine. I just threw it in the ultrasonic cleaner we will see how it comes out. It looked much worse in the photos but high resolution always does. I appreciate your input

It is Real, but beyond repair so why don't you drop it in the mail and send it my way and I can dispose of it Correctly...J/K !
I came across one I bought off this guy at the Range Club over a year ago and if you use a Reamer and you use a Correct USGI Screw it will not tighten Correctly at least that's what happened to the one I did, but I did find this and bought it and used it and to this day it has held up pretty good with a Original USGI Screw. I used a USGI Screw to make it look correct. Give this a Look and it's a Really good fix. Its works on Wood, Metal, Aluminum and even Plastic. There's even a YouTube video you can search for and look at it.

More than likely messed the threads up pulling the old screw out, which has/had a peened end.
Might be able to rethread but I don't know the size. Maybe try a type III screw for size?
Sure no marking on right side aka SI ?

By using that,
Can the screw still be screwed back out?

Hey....
I learned to read DIRECTIONS !!!!
Description
Use to fix worn and stripped screw holes. Use in wooden, metal, plastic items into cement, aluminum or anywhere screw holes need fixing. Just cut strip to size needed, fit lengthwise into hole, insert screw and tighten. Screw may be unscrewed if needed. (8) 3/4" x 2" strips per card.

Well the screw held tension for a short time so we will see. I used the type 3 screw for reference and it was not a forced or loose fit, nor was it gritty in or out.
I have it in the cleaner now, I will update if i find any markings when it comes out

Does anyone have a clue as to the origin of the Type II band on my 4.9 mil Inland? I've always thought it was original but have never been able to learn what maker used the dual slash mark.

Especially since I started on the original Culver forum. That had to be about 1998.

I44,
Great picture..
I always liked the one you had showing that carbine in a Fall setting.
I own 4 Inlands in the Trans period near and above your's with T2 bands. 1 unmarked, 1 with single / and 2 like your's with double //.
Never have I heard so much as a guess as to maker.
I know Newscotlander nailed down the T2 in a pennant or triangle,
But I have no info about the / or //.
