Froccer,
Firstly a warm welcome to the site. What a great start and a lovely rifle. These little beauties which were used by nearly every nation in various guises.
It was renowned for having great flexibility in 7.62 x 54mmR for the sniper and general infantry work and .30 - 40 Kragfor trench work and also used by many cavalry units of the period especially the Italians.
I have always found the action workings fascinating and cleverly manufactured. I know the BritishArmy used them on a comparison trial as they were said to put more fire down faster and more accurately then a bolt action of the time. There will be those on here who specialise in the rifle and its various roles so good luck and let us know how it shoots when you get round to it.
