FAST FIRING MACHINE GUN - GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS
Designed for use in helicopters and armoured vehicles in the late 1960s, the 7.62 mm (0.3 in) calibre M134 Minigun is based on the multiple-barrelled Gatling design.
It has six barrels that are revolved by an electric motor and fed by a 4,000-round link belt. This allows for a firing rate of 6,000 rounds per minute, or 100 per second, about ten times that of an ordinary machine gun.

The story with Metal Storm is of course caseless ammo if a misfire occurs the round behind will push the dud out there was a rumour the designer was offered allot of money 50 million supposedly by a certain country that had he taken up the offer and given them the product then he may have ended up like the chap supplying Saddam Husiens HARP guns?
Watch this on the handgun 3 rounds in 1 second before recoil and all 3 clover leaf......... only the trigger and the projectiles move no jams.
Noone mentions the muzzle velocity or anticipated range, that would then be a guide as to what weapons of the future could be invisiaged for operational use ie sniping.
What better way to have 3 rounds on their way before recoil???

Soviets (I mean Russians, but they basically are the Soviets still), did that with the AN-94. Neat concept, very difficult to do properly.
The velocity must be incredible, chucking projectiles of that size out in the speed they say is their normal delivery pattern. Nothing could survive!!
At least with a GPMG on sustained fire, it hit guys over the bluff out of sight to traditioonal weaponry on a beaten zone, I wonder if this little beast does the same??

Well EMP is a totally different ball game. If it was used against this device yes, it would work as it has electronic systems to operate, however, the guys would still be there with their Gympies ready to accomodate any enemy!!
