Fine looking rifle. That's going back to the design's beginnings. James Lee's first bolt action rifles were chambered in .45-70. Below is a M1885 Lee Remington.

That is a beaut! There is something satisfying about a 45-70 bolt action. I thought it was a 12ga conversion when I saw it in the shop and wasn't intrigued. But the fella said "45-70". Sold sir! Lol

I wanted to have one of those for donkey's years...same thought, that's how they started out. That would be great for a brush buster out in our prairies.
Show us some close ups of the bolt face, mag interior and receiver interior at the mag...?

Were those new built guns and actions or was Navy Armys recycling surplus and just refinishing/scrubbing them when they refit the stock and barrel? That's pretty neat.

Navy Arms used Indian .308 actions with new made barrels and magazine. It is a great novelty item but for its size it is extremely heavy. But to each his own.

I think I could use a good condition #4 action myself...
