This is exactly why you fire from back inside a room or well back from an opening in the shadows hanging that barrel into outer space and wearing a bright blue head scarf well you are begging to be shot. No further info on her survival but also in the clip you see her think about poking her head up again in about the same spot but stops short. Which would have made for a perfect follow up shot by the counter sniper as sure as eggs they have adjusted their aim and the next one will for certain kill her. Besides she may have had more than 1 round from that spot and not done a shoot & scoot.

Lucky indeed. She still demonstrated more fundamental marksmanship skills than nearly any other footage I've seen from any sources from that area. Most of what you see coming from there is loads of enthusiasm and not much else. I tend to think many of them are guys playing for the camera in an area where being engaged is a low probability. At least with this lady I can't doubt there was enemy in front of her. If she lives long enough and would have someone train her up a little bit instead of holding the damn camera she is already days ahead of loads there.
According to the media anyone with a long gun with 1. An optic 2. Indoors 3. Outdoor within 10 feet of a sandbag 4. Identifies themselves as such is - a sniper. Some months ago I was couch ridden with a cast and began watching more of these videos than anyone ever should. The only term I found which was used with any accuracy was "fighter". I'm sure they're lots of skilled people in the fight but most of what I saw of the irregular personnel was a lot of "want to" without anyone having taken the time to show them "how to". Understand not judging those fighting for their home, just frustrating to know how effective they could be. Life is just a lot cheaper some places.
she might be cute, young and little, but she doesn't look like someones girlfriend shooting to me.
as lowspeed points out, it is not the step around a corner and spray you see so often in videos out of Syria or the ukraine. she is shooting at a target that's not made out of paper and I bet she isn't aiming to miss.
she's way harder than I am and will probably ever be.
Also never fire twice from the same spot.
In a nice book about a German (Austrian, actually) sniper in WWII, one of his regrets was that at the beginning of his sniper career e doubled a shot from underneath a destroyed tank. A few seconds later his spotter got shot in the neck and died after long suffering in their hideout, while he could not move and help him.
The book is: Sniper on the Eastern Front, telling the memoirs of Sepp Allerberger, one of Germany's top snipers.
There are several things here that amaze me..the first two Cinders has already pointed out. The girl may have well been leaning out the window in a bikini top yelling "IM OVER HERE!" Definitely tempting fate.
However, the calmness and leisurely attitude, plus being mindful enough to keep the nose hook off the bang button is enough for me to raise a pint to her. Unreal all the way 'round.
