Just NEVER use "high-velocity" .22LR ammo in these.

As with the H&K kits for the G-1 / FAL / L1A1, extended use of HV ammo may expand the incredibly thin, (about one millimetre), tube walls to engage the full-bore rifling. VERY hard to remove the adapter when that happens.

These things were intended primarily for use in "indoor" gallery ranges.

Note that the Brit Commonwealth ditched these adapters and went with a dedicated .22LR (single-shot) SMLE variant, the Rifle No.2.

I Know we have discussed this bulging issue before, I have a couple of L12A1 liners, one new build and one original (the original I suspect was ex Canadianicon Army).

I adjusted (a laborious task) the new liner to fit one of my L1A1's and that's now a close fit and groups very well indeed.

We have spoken about this before, but my kit is basically new, designed primarily for the US market, with original and new parts. Pete Laidlericon of this parish provided considerable help with the project, a fact I and many others are very grateful for.

The new liner was Fal bore dimensions and my SP L1A1 has a new made barrel, so I suspect dosen't conform to the original Metric or Inch barrel specs, hence the knats cock adjustments required for a snug fit.

I check fitted the original unadjusted spare liner in an original L1A1 barrel and was shocked that it clattered home like throwing a sausage down the high street!

Two things came to mind, first, it must have grouped like a shotgun being so loose and second, it must have been in grave danger of bulging into the parent bore with the lack of firm support along its length.

No issues with mine so far I am pleased to say!
