When we had one or two terrorist attacks earlier in the year, here in the U.K., involving hired vehicles being driven into crowds of people, one or two of our politicians immediate reaction was to say that perhaps there should be some laws/tighter regulations on who can and can't hire a van. The vehicle hire companies did point out that their staff are not trained to spot terrorists and if a terrorist did try to hire a vehicle from them, they would probably not do so looking like a terrorist.
Just think of the thousands and thousands of vehicles that are probably hired out everyday for perfectly legal purposes and reasons.Information
