I was milling a demilled section of a Monotype Mk II receiver that had been converted to a L4A3. At the rear face of the barrel nut a spacer fell out.
The donor piece I am going to weld in did not have a spacer but one of the other demill bits & pieces I have did.
Never noticed this before mainly because previous demills had different cuts.
Pics below show the original demilled section and the spacer and recess for the spacer.
Manufacturing screw up or ?????
Joe
Interesting. I have an uncut, unmolested, factory original '42 Daimler-Monotype MkII that I can go take a look at, if you want?? I have never noticed such a thing, but then again I've never really looked at that location for a piece like that either.
