    Very nice, one of my favorite rifles. Can you check the top of the butt near the butt plate for a rack number? I have observed from "C1"(sold it to a friend in a moment of weakness) to as high as "C539" giving the reasoning that Australiaicon received at least that many.

    A correct handguard can be found if patient and willing to spend the $$.

    I have no stamp at all on top of my butt in front of the buttplate.

    The TAS marking on the stock disk makes me think The Armidale School, a local private school (public school to the british). They have thier own small bore range, cadets and a quick google shows the school "shooting club" dating back to the 1890s.
    It has a U stamp on the top, front of the receiver.
