ARISAKA TYPE 99 WRIST REPAIR?

The Japanese did not repair T-99 stocks , none ever went back to be repaired . The Kanji is not original to the rifle , it was added later . The stock has already been sanded and refinished . If you want to fire that rifle you are going to have to pin or bolt the crack .

I was beginning to think that was the case.

The Kanji is not original to the rifle , it was added later .

How can you tell? I know it was not issued as such but thought it might be period applied.
Again ,have seen it in person yet.
