Well I haven't a clue about swords in general and Japanese swords in particular.
So I would like an answer to the following question: IF a Japanese sword WHY initials TK in Western (Roman) script?

Pic from Japanese sword website. Since officers had to buy their own swords, why not customize it with initials, in any language. Or a presentation sword.
