1.5 MOA Lithgow......
I have taken my first Lee Enfield Rifle
which was a 303/25 sporter when I bought it 26 years ago, and done some modifications. The whole project is in it's early stages yet, but it is showing promise. On it's second brief outing (the bedding failed after six shots on the first trip) after eight rounds to get it near the bull at 100m (not bad, considering I had only bore sighted it after changing the barrel mid week) I put my last 6 rounds onto a fresh target. If you measure centre to centre, it is a six shot, 1 5/8" group. I am going to continue the project....

That's an excellent initial result.
Is that with handloads or factory ammo?

I use the same load for all my .303's. 40gn ADI 2208, the projectiles were 170gn Taipan HPs. Close enough to MkVII Ball spec for the standard sights to be true.
Been taking some pics along the way, including the barrel change. Will put something together when it's done.
Here's one of the action bedding block bolted into the foreend.

Wht are you using for bedding compound? Acraglass isn't a bad choice. Alot of guys use Devcon steel weld or JB Weld to good effect as well.
You want something that'll really cure hard.
Also, the whole afair might look a little sleeked if you counter-sink the lug bolts a little.

Hand made?- basically, yes. Other than hacksawing to size and surfacing two faces on the lathe, the rest was done with drills, files and a bit of epoxy for under the receiver ring.
Claven2, the whole project started out with me being pig-headed about making an "old junky army gun shoot". Been laughed at once too often! In the efforts of keeping the overall cost of modifications to as near to zero as possible (method in my madness, under my system failure is cheap) The bedding epoxy is a product from work for glueing ceramic tiles on impact/wear surfaces. As I said, it failed. The next product tried is a two part metal putty for temporary repairs on blown pressure pipes. Moulds like putty, sets like concrete, sticks like $hit to a blanket and releases with a quick spray of WD on the metal! It seemed to fit the bill perfectly, and it's free too! Working well so far. Now I know I'm on the right track with my project, if needed, I will buy (shudder) the right stuff.
There is a good reason for the bolts being so prevalent..... it looks offensive!
Here's pics of the block in the action and an overall view so far- still working on a pistol grip butt, the foreend will get a little more work as well......
