91° Adunata Alpini Trento
Hi everybody,
tomorrow a very special thing will start, the yearly meeting of the Italian
Mountain Troops.
From Friday to Sunday 600.000 Alpini are expected to take part.
No mistake gentlemen, 600.000 (six hundred thousand).
I know it is something not really known outside Italy, but it is an unbelievable happening.
Former Alpini from all over the world will take part. People coming from New Zealand, Australia
, South Africa, Argentina
, Brazil, Mexico, the U.S. of A, Canada
, Europe, Asia........
That is the best part of a wonderful Country meeting in peace.
The city will be cleaner than ever already on Monday morning, because the Alpini are just like that.
The vast majority of all volunteers in the Italian Civil Protection service come from the ranks of the Alpini, just to give you an idea.
I'll cut it short before someone will start getting too bored, but I just want to cry out loud: VIVA GLI ALPINI!!!
Am I proud to be one of them or not?
Be back on Monday...

You’d be most welcome, with your military hat.
As a foreigner you would be made honorary mayor of the city within 15 seconds by the mountaineers.

It was great!!!
I met my colleagues from the 156° officer's course and spent three days with them.
We walked through a wonderful city going to meet our former soldiers int the different camps, had some good drinks (moderate drinking!), told some of the usual old tales from our time under the Army and then left younger at heart.
650.000 people came to Trento. Roughly 300.000 troops and the rest families and friends.
The troops marched in front of the authorities from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM, non-stop!
Next month we'll meet at the yearly meeting for the troops from Veneto and Friuli, in Vittorio Veneto.
Kids will be already on holidays, so we'll have them with us, and things will be even better.
I hope someone will send me a few pictures, because I just enjoyed and made very few myself.

And here are some of my Brothers at the end of a Teroldego-break (Teroldego is one of the most famous wines of Trento) in a wonderful wine-bar.

I'm sure I'll get some better pictures sooner or later.
