Definitely a very beautiful and well done 'sportered' Kragicon.

Your Redfield (#102-K) receiver-sight is a lot more convenient for bolt removal for cleaning than the micrometer version.

    That’s a good note. Thanks!
I’ve looked a little and they’re certainly not cheap where you can find them!
For me it’s an aesthetic thing anyway. I think the knobs are neat. I don’t think I’d actually use them that much, haha.

Attached are copies of the instructions originally packed with Redfield #102-K and #70-K receiver sights. Early instructions stated magazine cut-off lever should be "thrown away".

Also attached, is a William's Gunsight Co. catalog entry, that explains the cartridge feed problem caused by eliminating the cut-off shaft entirely.

    Here’s a question for you,
In regards to the Redfield sight, is the base the same for both the 102K and the 70K? Or for that matter, the 102K and, say, the 70S (or W or E or whatever).
In other words, if I found a loose micrometer slide and wanted to put it in my 102 base, would it work?

In my research this is just a random thought I had.
If I was determined to get the micrometer sights, it’d be an awful lot easier to just buy whichever sight eBay happened to have. The 1903 or Winchester variant seems to be pretty common.

No bases and uppers are different.

    I received the Kragicon.
Boy oh boy is it sweet.
The trigger has just about zero take up and a nice crisp break. Someone has put a lot of work into this thing.
That peep sight is also a wonderful thing.
Hopefully I'll be able to submit a range report after this weekend.
