    The crossed flagstaffs was a proof mark or rather part of one; earlier on it was "DCP" with the crossed staffs, which I always understood to be "Dominion of Canadaicon Proof".

    Seen on the barrel, body and bolt head as being the (directly) pressure bearing parts?
